Disaster

Any one ever heard of 'damp off'? I've only seen it once before in all my years of growing violets. It comes on fast. A plant can look good one day and be  completely wilted in less than 48 hours....

That's a shame. It may be what happened to a couple of my plants (just not sure if it's the same). Optimara Romance had a habit of collapsing in the summer. After doing it twice, I just quit growing...

How terrible, Cheryl. I dearly hope you are right and that you won't see it in more plants. Damping off is a term used for several different but similar soil-born diseases and fungii. When they die...

That's Terrible Annabel.  Yes I soooooo know the feeling.  The first time I wick watered I lost many large plants this way.  I was able to save one by stripping it down to the top crown and re-rooting...

Jon Thanks for asking...but I tossed the whole thing. I didn't even take a leaf. Not taking any chances...not even for a favorite. I soaked and washed the pot and plastic cottage cheese tub it was in....

Cheryl, I hear you. I'm having the same problem. Toooo many babies and no place to put them. I've had to toss some of the poor performers to make room for those that are. I just hate throwing plants...
